Create a knowledge base
Give the agent your documents and web pages so it answers with your own information.
AvailabilityThe number of knowledge bases depends on your plan ("Limits" menu).
Create the knowledge base
- Open the "Knowledge base" menu and create a knowledge base (name and description).
- Add your content: PDF, Word (.docx) or text (.txt) files, or the addresses of pages on your website.
- Wait for the "Active" status ("Processing" while it is being analysed).
- In the agent, "Knowledgebase" section, select the knowledge base and save.
Choose how it is used
- "Function Call" (recommended): the agent only looks things up when it needs to. Faster.
- "Prompt Injection": the knowledge base is checked after every sentence the caller says. More accurate but slower; suited to support.
Best practice
- Keep content short, with clear headings and lists.
- Use public web pages: some protected sites block reading (status "Failed"). If so, save the content as a PDF and upload that.
- Your 10 most frequent questions can also go straight into the instructions.
- Read transcripts to check the agent quotes your information correctly.
