Test your agent (chat, browser, phone)
The three ways to test an agent before it goes live, and when to use each.
1. Test chat: for the instructions
The quickest way to check the conversation logic, without the voice.
- Open the agent and click "Test assistant" (speech bubble icon).
- Type as a customer would: the agent replies using the same instructions and tools as on the phone.
- Check that it understands requests, collects the right details and uses its tools.
Tip
Every test session is saved in "Inbox" with a "Test" badge, so you can read the exchange back.
2. Browser call: for the voice
Call transfer does not work in this mode.
- Click "Speak with your assistant" and allow microphone access.
- Talk to the agent: check the voice, the pace and how it handles interruptions.
3. A real phone call: the final check
- Outbound agent: click "Speak to your assistant", choose a phone call and enter your number: the agent rings you straight away.
- Inbound agent: simply call the number assigned to the agent.
- This is the only test that checks every tool, including call transfer.
Good to know
- Voice tests use minutes just like real calls; the test chat uses a little credit.
- Save the agent’s number in your contacts so you can call it again easily.
